What people usually ask
How much does Kanlane cost?
Creating an account is free and no card is required. If paid plans ever appear, they will be announced first and what you already have stays yours.
Does it work offline?
Yes. You can install Kanlane as an app on your phone or computer and open it offline: you will see your latest data and changes will sync when you are back online.
Who can see my passwords?
Only you. Passwords and their notes are encrypted in your browser with your master password before being saved, and that password never leaves your device.
What if I forget my master password?
When you create it, a recovery key is generated that you can download and keep. Without the master password or that key, no one can decrypt your passwords, not even Kanlane.
Can I work in a team?
Yes. You can share a project, invite people by email and assign tasks. Each person has a role: owner, editor or viewer.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes. You can export tasks, notes, clients, contacts, meetings and encrypted passwords. There are also local versions and optional encrypted copies in your account. The export doesn't include original images or plugin data; keep separately what you need.
What are plugins?
Small extensions that add features, like per-project hour tracking or a timer. They run isolated and only access what you allow them to.
